Antioch is one of the oldest towns in California, having been settled in 1848. Today, Antioch is mainly a “bedroom” community, with most adults working in larger cities toward Oakland and San Fransisco. The town has grown in the last 30 years, as the population of the Bay Area continues to grow, and real estate prices force families to move towards the outskirts of the Bay Area Antioch has a semi-arid climate with hot dry summers, and mild winters with modest rainfall.

The technician arrived on time took his time going through our heating and air conditioning and shared some good and some not so good information but I felt that he was very honest
Performed AC maintenance for member. System is 28 years old and has been having struggles the last few years with cooling the home and costing a lot of money in utilities. Client has recently replaced the water heater and has decided it is time to upgrade the system for better reliability and efficiency.
Performed tune up on 21 year old AC. Unit wasn’t cooling the home. Thermostat was turning on heat and ac at the same time. Corrected that issue and found that the unit did not have any refrigerant in the system. There is a leak somewhere in the system. Client not concerned with cooling for now, will revisit in the spring.
Perform diagnostic on 12-year-old Ameristar air-conditioner unit is not cooling the house very well. Found no issue with outdoor coil other than being overcharged of refrigerant. Indoor coil had a large crack in the drain pan causing water damage to the furnace platform and leaking water into the duck system. This caused the indoor to be humid and feeling warmer than it should.Client to look into upgrading the system and repairing damage
Performed AC tuneup on 23-year-old carrier. Not cooling the house. Blowing warm air. Not much can be done to repair this unit, the outdoor coil has rotted away affecting its efficiency. The indoor coil has rusted and started to hold congealed water. Air quality is very poor. No repairs can be done to correct efficiency or extend life. Client would like to upgrade system to be comfortable in his home.
Performed AC tuneup on 27-year-old Rheem air conditioner. Unit was extremely dirty and has had several parts replaced over the years. Cleaned out unit. Inspected all of the components, within range. Unit is older and very in efficient. Recommend client look into upgrading system
Performed tune up on 18 year old Carrier. House is not cooling the home. Energy bill is $600 a month. Client has several issues. Water is leaking into ceiling, lack of filter changes caused the unit to get very dirty. And the system is too big for the home. Client wants to change system to something properly designed.
Performed tune up on air conditioner, cleaned filter and outdoor unit. Checked capacitors, contactor, electrical connections, refrigerant levels and amperage draw on compressor, condenser fan motor and blower. Heat exchanger has large thermal stress, blower and evaporator coil plugged causing drop in efficiency. Contactor burnt and pitted, compressor amperage high and condenser fan motor at max amperage draw. All lead to a higher chance for failure.
