Simple, Inexpensive Tips to Avoid Costly AC Repairs in Pittsburg, CA
You don’t have to spend too much on AC maintenance. Only a few inexpensive tips are enough to prevent costly repairs.
Tips to avoid expensive AC repairs are the following:
- Schedule a Tune-Up in Spring
You should prepare your air conditioning system for the harshest weather by scheduling a preventive maintenance service before turning it on. It is the most important reason to schedule an AC tune-up service during spring.
Only those HVAC owners struggle with poor AC performance during summer who do not get their AC inspected before the summer season.
For an experienced AC company in Pittsburg contact Certified Solar Heating and Air Conditioning for the best services.
- Distance Between AC and Plants
When the shrubs are too close to the outdoor AC unit, the probability of clogging in the condenser increases. On the other hand, when the distance between the outdoor unit and vegetation is too much, the AC does not get proper shading and protection from sunlight.
Both situations can lead to expensive AC repairs. Maintain a proper distance, i.e., a 2-feet gap, between the AC unit and the plants to maintain the summer shading without any risk of air blockage.
- Re-Insulate Your Cooling Unit
The insulation protects the electrical connection, refrigerant line, and drainage system. Over time the insulation can rust, rot, or crack. You should re-insulate the old insulation for long-lasting safety and better cooling.
Poor insulation can cause leakage, wall cracks, and wiring hazards. All these problems lead to expensive HVAC repairs.
- Avoid Hazardous Situations
The overloaded circuit and clogged ducts can lead to hazardous situations like unhealthy indoor air and electrical damage to all electric devices.
You can avoid this by installing a separate circuit breaker box when you have too many electrical devices at home. Consider scheduling a duct cleaning service once every three years for clogged duct-related issues.
- Schedule Tune-Up Again in The Fall
It is always advisable and wise to schedule AC tune-up twice annually.
For the best AC company in Pittsburg contact Certified Solar Heating and Air Conditioning during the fall season to inspect your AC after 3-4 months of usage.
Before you switch to furnace equipment, you should get your AC serviced by our professional to avoid additional damage.

C Ham - Pittsburg, CA 94565
The office called 20 minutes before our technician arrived and also sent a text and pictures of our technician so we felt safe and knew who to expect at our door. Technician Jackie arrived on the earlier side of the appointment window. She was polite and considerate of our property and home. She was thorough and explained all of her findings, readings and potential concerns while being timely and efficient. This is exactly what we were looking for with our service provider and why we selected Certified Heating and Air Conditioning.

Today certified was in the Pittsburg area performing a return add on. The system was having issues with static pressure and didn’t reach the required cfm count for the system to function properly. Today we added a second return with a 12” flex duct. Ensured that new return location had a new filter and that the duct work was pulled tight, sealed, and strapped up in the attic. With the new additions to the system we were able to resolve the issue at hand in time before the start of summer
