Performed diagnostic on air conditioner found blower not coming on due to failed circuit board. Bypassed to test system and found blower at max allowed power consumption by manufacturer and blower capacitor well below spec at 1.7 and rated for 5. Heat exchanger has thermal stress. Compressor at max allowed power consumption by manufacturer and system has small leak in suction line service valve. 31 year old furnace and 27 year old air conditioner
Returned to perform repairs on 2003 Goodman condenser, system runs but was not properly cooling the home. Checked evaporator coil and filter for airflow restrictions, none at this time. Balanced R-22 refrigerant and added a compressor saver kit to ensure the system will function and cool the home during the blazing hot California summer.
Performing diagnostic service on 1986 Day & Night furnace that was not running on arrival. System has been overheating and short-cycling due to dirty and leaking blower motor and extensive wear inside heat exchanger.
